Supporter Page Launched

general

I've been thinking for a while about how to make supporting Kleki feel more worthwhile, without leaving anyone out depending on how they choose to donate, and without slowing the development of Kleki. I think I finally have something good.

If you donate through PayPal or Patreon, you now have access to a supporter page with two things: cosmetic options for Kleki, and early access to experimental prototypes I'm working on.

Some of the logos you can pick.

The cosmetic options currently let you customize the Kleki logo in ways that will satisfy the hat-wearing community. I have some plans for other amusing cosmetic changes. The prototypes include a really high quality liquify tool, a timelapse feature, and others, with more coming. Supporters get to try these early so their feedback can shape these features before they're released on Kleki.

Animation prototype available to supporters: early work on adding a timeline with onion skinning. "Animated" layers can change their contents per frame.

I want to be clear that Kleki will always be fully featured. The supporter page is a way to make supporting the project feel fun and rewarding without taking anything away from Kleki itself. Cosmetic options are purely for amusement and don't offer any utility. If a prototype turns out to be a good idea, and through iteration, reaches a stage where the feature is working fine, has good usability, and doesn't break other parts of the app, it will be released for everyone. Some prototypes will turn out to be silly in hindsight. Those will stay confined to the laboratory. I think this will be a good way to motivate me to try out more things and get feedback earlier. Ideally this will accelerate Kleki's development.

How long do supporters have access to the supporter page? You have access while you are an active supporter, who donated within the last 30 days, plus a generous grace period after that.

So if you've been thinking about donating, now's a good time. If you have ideas for what would make a cool addition to the supporter page, let me know.
